A beach towel that fits in your back pocket?!
I’ve always loved the idea of compact thin towels that also
dry out quickly. I remember being in awe when I discovered chamois-towels
during my high school swimming days. I
also remember that camping trip I took last summer when I figured a knockoff
sham-wow would work the same (ouch).
I was skeptical of these Lightload Towels by Dyna-e inc. I figured they would either
scratch the heck out of me (see camping above), or shred like a shop towel when
wet.
I was presently
surprised by both the smooth texture and the durability of these tiny things.
The towels are vacuum sealed into the size of a small Pogs container. Once you
open it up, you can unfold while dry (though carefully), or moisten up a little
to stretch out to full size. These towels are pretty absorbent also. When
saturated, you can wring out the excess water, and the towel works like a
sponge again. When you’re done, just wring out and hang to dry.
I’ve used my
Lightload Towels quite a few times, and no rips thus far! I’m not sure on the
actual expected life span of these towels, but I’ve had success reusing mine.
I am one future
happy camper.
